is the Senior Partner & Chief Operating Officer of Division 12 Associates, with an extensive and multifaceted background in media, communications, public relations and marketing. Tony has more than 30 years of major experience in media production, public relations, broadcast and print journalism and international communications. Beginning his career as an advertising salesman for radio, print and television in Philadelphia, PA, Tony went on to become a top-selling advertising account executive for Essence Magazine in New York in the 1970’s, and was named one of Madison Avenue’s “Young Lions of Advertising” by Advertising Age Magazine. Tony then served as the advertising director for New York’s Encore Magazine. Other credentials include field production work in Africa for CNN International and writer-producer credits for CNN’s Washington bureau, Fox 5 News WTTG, WUSA-TV9 News and National Public Radio where he was co-executive producer of Power Point Radio. In addition, was a press secretary for US Congresswoman Maxine Waters (D-CA), senior producer of Pacifica Radio’s national daily “Julianne Malveaux Show” and he is the award-winning creator of BET’s “Teen Summit” program. Tony was also a general manager at WPFW 89.3 FM, where he used his considerable marketing and media management skills to restore the station’s failing programming and technical infrastructure, and was responsible for leading the station to the first million dollar membership drive in its 26 year history.
